Common Questions

Everything you need
to know before you arrive.

Susan gets many of the same questions. Here are the answers.

What skill level do I need?

None whatsoever. Susan's classes welcome complete beginners and experienced cooks alike. If you can hold a knife, you are ready.

How do I get to the apartment?

Susan's Paris apartment is in the 15th arrondissement, easy to reach by metro, or Uber/taxi. Full directions are sent upon booking confirmation.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. Please note any restrictions in your booking and Susan will adapt the menu accordingly.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible as dates fill quickly. Once you have your trip to Paris planned, it is time to book! Reserve here or email susan@onruetatin.com if you don't see dates that match with your trip.

Is wine included?

Yes. Wine accompanies the meal at the end of every class. The three-day experience also includes a dedicated wine tasting session.

Can I book a private class?

Absolutely. Susan offers private classes for small groups — perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or a special Paris experience. susan@onruetatin.com to enquire.

Do you offer half-day or market tours in Paris?

Unfortunately, Susan's busy schedule does not allow time for her to do half-day or market tours in Paris right now. We are looking to expand the current offerings, so let us know if there is something you would like to see on our future class schedule.

What should I wear?

Something casual and comfortable, and closed toed shoes! We provide an apron for you to use during your experience.

Is there a minimum age requirement for students?

Susan's classes are intended for adults, however exceptions for adolescents can be made upon request. Please contact Susan directly (susan@onruetatin.com) if you have children who would like to attend and we can discuss potential options!

When does the class end?

"After lunch" is imprecise, but the lunches tend to be long, generally ending around 3:30 PM.
