Your Culinary Story: Susan Herrmann Loomis'
Cookbook Writing Services

Do you dream of your own cookbook, but are unsure of how to begin and keep yourself going? Do you feel you have no idea about how to weave your recipes and stories into an engaging narrative?  Do you want and need help with your writing, even your observation techniques?

As we collect recipes, memories, and stories, it becomes vital to preserve them because they are a unique personal legacy, a reflection of tradition, a way to preserve culture. Whether it is writing a cookbook, chronicling  your unique history on a private website, or collecting your memories and recipes and sharing them through a newsletter, it begins with a passion to share the histories and memories of those you cherish.

I am here to guide you.

With decades of experience in writing world-class cookbooks, my expertise lies in helping you craft your unique food story into a compelling, well-structured, and enticing book that encapsulates your culinary vision.

The process begins with a detailed conversation about your food journey, your recipes, and the narrative you wish to weave. I will then create a plan to structure and compose your cookbook, ensuring each recipe, anecdote, and piece of advice radiates with authenticity and your distinctive voice. Having written dozens of cookbooks and being instrumental in assisting culinary luminaries like Patricia Wells and Maya Kaimal, I know what it takes to turn raw ideas into a polished, successful cookbook.  Contact me and we will set a date to talk!

I will help you because everyone who loves to cook and create in the kitchen has a cookbook inside of them.

Whether simple or more complex, we will work together to get you on your way collecting, organizing, creating a beautiful book.  You will have it to give to family and friends, to publish, to hold and use for yourself.

And you will have a legacy. As we go through life collecting recipes, snipping them out of magazines and newspapers, marking them in books, jotting them down when someone tells us how to make something, we are recording our culture.  As we cook for our families and loved ones, we are creating moments and memories that last.  Putting this all together in a book makes it even more meaningful.

I will help you every step of the way as you:
  • Gather your recipes, stories, memories.
  • Organize them
  • Develop ideas for their presentation
  • Decide whether or not you want photos or illustrations
  • Test the recipes if necessary
  • Create a publishable manuscript

Our options for working together include:
