This morning was ushered in with torrential rains.  So much for the plans of bicycling through Amsterdam.  A good book and a simple Dutch breakfast of organic spelt toast, butter, and DeRuijter Extra Puur Royale Hagel, or what I’ve always called chocolate ‘jimmies, has done the trick.

The sky is now blue; we’ll attempt a bike ride along the canal, and see where the rest of the day leads us!
